TripTrace is a personal, bilingual travel blog operated by Nadav. It publishes first-person travel documentation, destination guides, and itineraries. The data controller for the purposes of this policy is the site operator, reachable at the address in the Contact section.

• Comments: when you leave a comment we store the comment text, the name you provide, and — if you are signed in — your account identifier. An email address you supply is stored for moderation purposes and is never displayed publicly.
• Account data: if you create an account we store a display name and avatar via our authentication provider. Your email is held by the auth provider and is not exposed publicly.
• Usage data: pages viewed, approximate location (derived from IP), device and browser type, and referring pages, collected through analytics.
• Technical data: a hashed (not raw) form of your IP address, used solely to rate-limit spam on comment submissions.

3. How we use your information

We use the information above to:

• Display and moderate comments, and notify the site owner of new comments.
• Understand how the site is used so we can improve content and performance.
• Serve and measure advertising, where you have given consent.

We rely on the following processors to operate the site. Each handles data under its own privacy terms:

• Vercel — hosting and content delivery.
• Supabase — comments and account data storage and authentication.
• Sanity — content management for posts and pages.
• Resend — transactional email (comment notifications to the site owner).
• Google — advertising (AdSense) and analytics (GA4).

8. Affiliate links

Some pages contain affiliate links. If you click one and make a booking or purchase, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Affiliate links are marked, and the partner you are sent to operates under its own privacy policy.

Comments and account data are retained for as long as your account or the relevant content exists, unless you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained according to our analytics provider's default retention settings.
